In new construction Insulation may be installed on top of the roof purlins prior to installation of the roofing system.          
For existing buildings, Insulation may be applied to the interor surface of the walls and ceiling.  Seal the joints with aluminum tape to use as an air/vapor barrier.
In new and existing buildings, Insulation can be installed on mechanical piping and ductwork.
Insulation may be applied on the exterior wall Z-bars prior to the installation of the siding.
For new construction, Insulation may be installed below the concrete floor slab.
Insulation may be installed on the exterior face of the foundation grade beams. This application applies to both new and retrofit construction.
In new buildings, Insulation can be installed around buried ductwork before it is encased in concrete.
 

Installation Tips, Recommendations, and Warnings

Fasteners should be placed at 3 to 4 inches on center. Insulation may be fastened with bolts, nails, staples, or adhesive.
 
When applied to the exterior side of an insulated wall or roof assembly, it is important not to block ventilation paths.  
 
Heat resistant spacers must be used to block the Insulation away from steam pipes which are 550°F or more in temperature.
